Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and CTF-Hub (“CTF-Hub”, “we”, “us”) governing your access to and use of the ctf-hub.io Capture-The-Flag platform and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

Eligibility & Your Account

  • You must be at least the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (see the Acceptable Use Policy) and legally able to enter into these Terms.
  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date; impersonation or false identities are prohibited.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Enable two-factor authentication where available and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
  • Access within an organization (tenant) is governed by the roles assigned to you; you must only use capabilities granted to your role.

Billing and Subscription Terms

Plan Changes

  • Upgrades: When you upgrade to a higher-tier plan, changes take effect immediately. You will gain access to all features and increased limits of your new plan right away. Billing will be prorated for the remainder of your current billing period.
  • Downgrades: When you downgrade to a lower-tier plan, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to your current plan's features until the billing period ends.
  • Cancellations: If you cancel your subscription, you will retain access to your current plan until the end of your billing period. After that, your account will be downgraded to the free plan.

Billing Cycles

  • We offer monthly and yearly billing cycles
  • Yearly plans include a 20% discount
  • Billing cycles cannot be changed mid-period
  • All prices are in USD

Payment Processing

  • Payments are processed securely through Paddle
  • We accept major credit cards and PayPal
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • Failed payments may result in service suspension after a grace period

Refund Policy

  • We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods
  • Refunds for yearly plans are prorated based on unused months

Chargebacks

CTF-HUB understands that there may be occasions where you may not recognize or wish to dispute a payment made to our payment processor, Paddle, in relation to a Transaction.

A chargeback is a mechanism for your payment card issuer (at their discretion) to reclaim money from a retailer's bank. This mechanism may allow your card issuer to provide you with a refund in a number of circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • If you do not receive the Product or Service you paid for;
  • If you are charged an incorrect amount, or charged twice by mistake;
  • If the payment was made fraudulently without your authorization.

You expressly agree to contact CTF-HUB support at support@ctf-hub.io prior to raising any request for a chargeback or any dispute with your bank or card issuer in relation to any Transaction.

CTF-HUB recognizes that chargebacks can occur for various legitimate reasons. However, if you make a card payment through our payment processor, and subsequently dispute a legitimate charge by raising a chargeback without merit or legitimate reason (as determined at CTF-HUB's sole discretion), whether fraudulently or otherwise, then CTF-HUB reserves the right to:

  • Immediately terminate your access to all CTF-HUB Services;
  • Prohibit you from using our Services in the future;
  • Provide compelling evidence to refute your invalid chargeback request;
  • Take legal action to recover any losses incurred as a result of the invalid chargeback;
  • Report the fraudulent activity to relevant authorities and credit agencies.

CTF-HUB will cooperate fully with credit card companies and law enforcement authorities in prosecuting any fraudulent chargebacks to the fullest extent of the law.

Termination and Suspension of Services

If you fail, or CTF-HUB suspects that you have failed, to comply with any of the provisions of this Agreement, CTF-HUB may, without notice to you:

  • Terminate this Agreement, and you will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination; and/or
  • Terminate your license to access the Product and Services; and/or
  • Preclude your access to the Services.

CTF-HUB further reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice to you, and CTF-HUB will not be liable to you or to any third party should it exercise such rights. To the extent reasonably possible, CTF-HUB will provide advance notice of any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

Where CTF-HUB suspects that fraudulent activities are being conducted by you, we have the right to cancel and block your usage of our Services without notice. CTF-HUB may also liaise with relevant authorities for law enforcement and financial crime prevention purposes and pass your details on to authorities should evidence be found confirming malicious, fraudulent, or other criminal activity.

Termination of the Service will not affect any rights accrued thereunder or the Product that you have already acquired.

Consumer Right to Cancel

If you are a Consumer and unless the exception below applies, you have the right to cancel this Agreement and return the Product within fourteen (14) days without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire after fourteen (14) days from the day after completion of the Transaction.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient that you send us your communication concerning your exercise of the cancellation right before the expiration of the 14-day period. To cancel your order, you must inform CTF-HUB of your decision by contacting us at support@ctf-hub.io.

Please note that in respect of subscription services, your right to cancel is only present following the initial subscription and not upon each automatic renewal.

Effect of Cancellation:

If you cancel this Agreement as permitted above, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than fourteen (14) days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this Agreement. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, and you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

Exception to the Right to Cancel:

Your right as a Consumer to cancel your order does not apply to the supply of Digital Content that you have started to download, stream, or otherwise access, and to Products which you have had the benefit of.

Service Usage

By using CTF-Hub, you agree to:

  • Use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws;
  • Conduct hacking, exploitation, and testing only within the designated challenge sandboxes — never against the CTF-Hub platform, other users, other tenants, or any third-party system;
  • Not attempt to breach, access, or test the security of other users' or tenants' data;
  • Not cheat, share flags/solutions outside sanctioned team collaboration, or use automated solvers that undermine a competition;
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of challenge creators;
  • Not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose;
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials.

Your use is also governed by our full Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Violations may result in suspension or termination and, where warranted, referral to law enforcement.

Data and Privacy

We take your privacy seriously:

  • Your data is encrypted and stored securely
  • We do not sell or share your personal information
  • You retain ownership of all content you create
  • You can request data deletion at any time
  • We comply with GDPR and other privacy regulations

Your Content & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the content you create or upload (challenges, writeups, files, workshop materials). You grant CTF-Hub a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service.

  • You represent that you have the rights to any content you submit and that it does not infringe third-party rights or violate the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • You must not upload third parties' personal data without a lawful basis, or content that is illegal, malicious, or infringing.
  • We may remove content that violates these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy without prior notice.

Our Intellectual Property & License to You

The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by CTF-Hub and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.

You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or create derivative works of the Service, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available"without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

CTF-Hub is an educational and competition platform. You are responsible for conducting all security exercises lawfully and strictly within the sanctioned challenge environments.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CTF-Hub and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid to CTF-Hub in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or [e.g., USD 100]. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CTF-Hub from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law.

Governing Law, Disputes & Changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Law / Country], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in [Jurisdiction] will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email and/or a prominent notice on the Service and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
